#WhyNotMePet of the Month: Dee

Ten-year-old Dee is our #WhyNotMePet of the month. Why? Because, Dee has been homeless the longest of any of the pets (over 3.5 years) in the #WhyNotMe Pets program. We would love to get her adopted!

MORE ABOUT DEE Dee’s life was turned upside down after her family, whom she’d been with since a puppy, had to let her go due to housing issues in 2019. Since then, life has been a little rocky with two adoptions and returns.

Dee is a 10.5-year-old pit bull mix who is being cared for by Seattle Animal Shelter. This golden girl is looking for that forever family to live out the rest of her time in happy, loving, stable home.

This sweet girl has moved and lived in several homes, and she’s so ready to find a permanent place where she can rest her head on a warm lap. Dee’s foster family says she loves puzzle toys and zoomies in the yard.

Dee is reactive to other dogs and small animals, so would be best as an “only child.”

ABOUT #WHYNOTMEPETS

#WhyNotMePets is a statewide campaign that gives cats and dogs needing more care and attention a greater chance of finding a home as quickly as possible. Its mission focuses on animals that have been homeless for two months or longer; are elderly; have behavior or medical needs; aren’t thriving in the shelter environment; or make up a large percentage of the shelter population, such as bully breeds. These are the animals asking “Why not me?”
